Our Missionary News Letter from India

Manis Update. Manis, Serving the Lord in Hindu India.

Dear Friend and Praying Partners,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

A very severe cyclonic storm "HUDHUD" made its landfall on the 12th of October, near Visakhapatnam, 200 miles from my home town.with winds gusting at the speeds of 195 kmph. It caused extensive damage to crops, trees, buildings, and snapped power supply and vital communication links. This was considered one of the 35 deadliest storms in the recorded history.

80,000 thatched homes were destroyed. 400,000 people were evacuated from their homes. 135,000 are now living in rescue camps. 684,000 have been provided every meal. It is estimated that the total damage so far has been amounted to $16 billion dollars and this is just a preliminary assesment.

40,000 electric poles snapped right out from their place. Transportation and communications has been cut off, but our government officials are working very hard to restore it.. So far the official death toll is 35 and many were injured during this tragedy.

It will take several weeks for these people to get back to their normal lives. Due to the scarcity of the basics, each water can is sold at $5, and you can only imagine about the other necessities.

As a church, we are doing everything to help these people. As an immediate rescue mission, we have already sent a batch of basic food items. We are planning on doing several rounds of these relief camps.

What a great opportunity to show the love of Jesus Christ through serving them! We believe that several would turn to Christ as a result of this disaster and our relief efforts.

There is a great need for serving these people. First, pray for these people that they would come to Christ. Second, if the Lord leads you, please donate for this cause. You may donate through our missions website http://www.cmcmissions.org/donate. Everything you give for this cause would be used to give out bibles and basic food necessities. Thank you for being partners in this great cause.

Continue to pray for these people who lost everything.

May God Bless You!

Your Brother in Christ,

Johnny Mani

  1. This pastor is a good friend of mine.
He has spent time at our church and is married to a pastor's daughter from our area.
I fully put my support behind his ministry and community outreach programs.
If you are looking for an opportunity to invest in God's work ~ then this is a wonderful opportunity. If you are not able to invest ~ Pastor Johnny and I ask that you please hold him, his family, and ministry up in prayer.
    God bless you
    Pastor Shane
