Snow
I took the dogs out this morning at 4:00 am and found our
world covered in snow.
The Pugs thought this was an evil conspiracy and refused
to journey out into the snow ~ the Pugs and I prefer beaches in Hawaii at 4:00
am.
Anyway, as the Pugs and I were debating our options ~ one
of the more favorable options we agreed on was to hole up in front of the fire
till spring ~ the good Lord nudged me and reminded me of Lamentations 3:23; “Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
One of the things I love about God is His desire to give
2nd chances.
As I was looking at the snow ~ the good Lord reminded me
that he covers our shortcomings and failures and makes us “white as snow”.
“Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow…”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow…”
Isaiah 1:18 NLT
This world never forgets and seems to enjoy holding our
weaknesses, limitations, failures and faults in front of us.
God on the other hand promises to forgive and forget our
sin.
“And I
will forgive their wickedness,
and I will never again remember their sins.” Hebrews 8:12 NLT
and I will never again remember their sins.” Hebrews 8:12 NLT
Clara Barton, founder
of the American Red Cross, was reminded one day of a vicious deed that someone
had done to her years before.
But she acted as if
she had never even heard of the incident. "Don't you remember it?" her friend
asked. "No," came Barton's reply, "I distinctly remember forgetting it."
I prefer to think of
that being how the good Lord chooses to forget our sin.
PRAYER:
“Father, I just want to thank for loving me enough to
point out sin in my life that needs addressing and forsaking. I want to thank you for loving me enough to
choose to forget my sin and remember it no more. And I want to thank you for healing the areas
in my life that sin did damage. For this I am humbled and thank You. In Your
Son’s Name, Amen!”
