“HOW GOD BUILDS YOUR FAITH” series

Step #1: God gives you a Vision

"For I know the plans I have for you,

says the Lord, plans to prosper you,

not harm you, plans to give you a hope

and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

How can you discover God’s plan?

□    Does God’s Word agree?   Psalm 119:105

□    Have I asked God for help? James 1:5

□    Have I prayed about it?      Proverbs 3:6  

□    Will it cause others to fall? 1 Corinthians 8:9

□    Will it promote God’s Love? John 13:34-35

□    Does the Holy Spirit agree? John 16:13

□    Does Godly Counsel agree? Proverbs 11:14

□    Can I thank God for it?       Colossians 3:17

□    Does this decision fit who I am as a follower of Jesus?  Matthew 6:24

□    Will it build my faith?         1 Corinthians 10:23

□    How will Satan react?       1 Peter 5:8-9

□    Will it be a hindrance?      Hebrews 12:1

□    What are the consequences? Galatians 6:7

□    Would you want to be doing it when Jesus returns for His people? Matthew 24:44

□    Will it honor God?              1 Corinthians 10:31

What Hinders God’s Will in your life?

□    Selfish Motives:                                                                 

“… you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong ~ you want only what will give you pleasure.”  James 4:3 NLT

□    The influence of others:  “My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!”                                      Proverbs 1:10 NLT

□    Ignoring God’s Word:                                     

“God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.”    Proverbs 28:9 NLT

“I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”   Psalm 119:11 NLT

□    Busyness: “Do not love this world or the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.”       1 John 2:15-17 NLT

□    Unconfessed sin: “If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”     Psalm 66:18 NLT

□    Unforgiveness:

“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too,”               

     Mark 11:25 NLT  Matthew 6:14-15 NLT

□    Forgetting those in Need:

“Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need.”
