I Lost My Way

On Sunday mornings, I'm preaching a series on people in the Bible that "wandered" away from God -- and how they found their way back.
This got me thinking....
I have been working so diligently in 2014,
that I have wandered away from 2 things that bring me great joy.
#1. Writing and #2. Playing my guitar.
So, the good LORD gave me a "Gibbs Head Slap" for those of you that watch NCIS.
A "Gibbs Head Slap" is intended to break you away from what is distracting you and move you on a more productive course.
For me, that meant the Good Lord had to give me the flu bug and force me to stay home and take care of myself.
Funny how the Good Lord can use something that we hate to get our attention and move onto the straight and narrow path.
So here I am, guitar in one hand and my IPad in the other.
What is fascinating is how I can feel God's love washing over me.
James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you"
So today, I'm opening my soul and drawing near.
"Father, forgive me for getting so busy doing Your work
that I forgot to spend time with You.
Please teach me to discipline my schedule and thoughts so
Every day -- time with You is my priority.
Thank you for being so patient with me.
Your child,
Shane"
